This time you can’t really blame me on my absense! If you’ve been following me on Twitter you’d know by now that my laptop has, sadly, once again died on me again. Last time it did this, it pretty much took me about five months to get the money to get it fixed. This time around I’m not even going to bother to get it fixed again. From time I’ve already known that the laptop was faulty. When I say from time, I mean way after I’ve bought it – more like two years after I bought it. I’m not saying that I knew it was faulty because it kept on doing things it wasn’t supposed to but rather because I ended up searching up the model and make of my laptop and what do you know, tons of people have been complaining that their laptop doesn’t work. There are various things that go wrong with it. Only nearing the third year of owning it did it start malfunctioning. The first thing that happened was the wireless suddenly stopped working, and little by little it just kept on getting worse. Like I said, it’s time to get a new computer that hopefully won’t be faulty! Any suggestions?
Laptop and Desktop
What you see in the above picture is my dead laptop along side my ancient desktop. In case you are wondering, yes the desktop is working. I wouldn’t say that it’s running smoothly though because it needs to be upgraded and it also needs to be sped up, but can still do what a computer’s supposed to do which is all I asked for. Fine okay, the computer’s not ancient but it is old on my standards. This desktop computer (which I’m using at the moment) is about to be ten years old! … In human years, lol. This computer and I have been through a lot together. This is where I really learned about computers for the first time, this is where I was able to become a semi-fast typer. This is where I got my first virus attack and was able to manage around the computer and fix it manually and whatnot. Not once has this computer failed on me! We’ve even been transitioning together from the original Windows ME to the XP that I installed years ago. I’m not going to be promoting any brands here so don’t expect to see any names whatsoever…, other than “Windows.” That’s the only ‘brand’ name I have promoted as of yet in this blog. Even though the desktop computer has been there – I hate it with such a passion! I miss my dear laptop! Now that’s where all the fun happened! That’s where I REALLY got into computers! Fine okay, I’ll stop whining! I’ll get through this like I did last time!
Another thing that you may have seen while on Twitter was that I almost did end up getting stranded in downtown T-dot. For those of you who personally know me, you’d know that I live about an hour away from the downtown core so immediately you knew that there were certain things I would not do. For example, I wasn’t going to walk all the home and nor was I going to pay the fair for a taxi to drop me here! Were I rich, then I’d think taxi – no wait, scratch that, I’d most likely think of limo to drop me home! Then again, were I rich I wouldn’t be working at this shitty job now would I? Anyhow, the reason that I was almost stranded was because, as rumours state, there was a gas leak in the subway station near work and everyone had to evacuate the area! There were fire trucks, police vehicles and more sorrounding the area. Honestly, I’ve never seen to many people gathered together one block in a while! No one was injured that I know of!
There isn’t much that I know about this event. By the time I finished work, people were already crowding around the windows to see what had happened. As I have previously said, there were fire trucks, police and more sorrounding the area so we all immediately thought it was something much more severe. Luckily though, when we did learn it was just that station that was blocked off, a couple friends and I had to walk four subway stations down just so we were able to find one that was open and heading our way. Probably around 9-something PM did I hear over the P.A. system that everything was clear and back to normal at that particular station, so it’s all good people!
For those wondering, yes I am going back to school in September and I’m psyched big time! Not only am I psyched, I’m nervous, happy, sad – everything all wrapped up in one! This blog entry is long enough so I’ll talk about school later on, in the coming weeks! Even sooner though if I get my new laptop soon times! Hope everyone’s doing well!

¡Esta vez no me pueden culpar mi ausencia! Si me han estado siguiendo en Twitter sabrán que mi computador portátil, lamentablemente, se ha dañado de nuevo. La última vez que esto pasó me duró casi cinco meses para conseguir el dinero para arreglarlo. Esta vez, ni voy a intentar arreglarlo. Hace tiempo que supe que mi computador tenía defectos. Cuando digo que hace tiempo, quiero decir ya después de haberlo comprado – ¡alrededor de dos años después de comprarlo! No digo que supe que tenía defectos porque estaba haciendo cosas que no debería pero sinó porque averigüé más información acerca de la serie y el modelo que tengo yo y de lo que veo hay un enorme número de personas que se han quejados porque sus computadores portátiles no trabajan. Hay varias cosas que se dañan. Solamente llegando al tercer año de tenerlo me comenzó a dañar. Lo primero que pasó fue que el Internet sin-alambres paró de funcionar de repente, y poco a poco se comenzó a dañar más y más. Como dije, es tiempo de comprar un nuevo computador que espero no sea defectuoso. ¿Me tienen algunas recomendaciones?
Lo que ven en la foto arriba es mi computador dañado y mi computador viejísimo. En caso si se están preguntando, sí el computador viejísimo trabaja. No diría que trabaja bien porque aún se tiene que actualizar, se tiene que hacer más rápido y mucho más pero aún hace todo lo que un computador deeb de hacer y eso es todo lo que he querido. Bueno el computador no es viejísimo pero sí es viejo para mí. Éste computador (que estoy usando al momento) va cumplir sus 10 años! … En años de humano., jejeje. Éste computador y yo hemos compartido mucho. Aquí es donde he aprendido de verdad acerca de computadores, aquí es donde he aprendido a escibir medio rápido. Aquí es donde me encontré con mi primer virus y donde aprendí cómo defender y limpiar mi computador de los viruses. ¡Nunca me ha fallado éste computador! Aunque éste computador me ha tratado bien ¡aún lo odio con una pasión! Extraño a mi querido computador portátil. ¡Ahora, de allí es donde me vino toda la felicidad! Allí es dónde me interesé más de los computadores. Bueno, bastaré de quejarme. Sobreviviré como lo hice la vez pasada.
Otra cosa que sabrán ustedes mientras en Twitter es que casi me quedaba desamparado en el centro. Para ustedes que personalmente me conocen, saben que vivo a una hora del centro de la ciudad por tren entonces ya de imediato saben que hay unas cosas que no haré. Por ejemplo, no iba caminar el camino entero hasta la casa ni iba yo pagar por un taxi. Si fuera rico entonces pensaría del taxi – no, miento, ¡si yo fuese rico entonces pensaría más en una limosina! También, si tuviera plata no estaría trabajando dónde estoy trabajando al momento. Bueno, como sea – la razón que casi me quedé desamparado en el centro fue porque (de lo que dice la gente) hubo un derramo de gas en la estación de tren y todos tuvieron que evacuar el área. Hubo bomberos, carros de policia y más. Francamente, hace tiempo no he visto tanta gente ajuntado en una cuadra así. De lo que sé, no hubo heridos.
No hay mucho que sé de éste evento. Cuando terminé de trabajar ya había un montón de gente asomándose en la ventana. Como ya dije, habían bomberos, policia y más en todo el área entonces todo imediatamente pensamos que algo mucho más grave pasó. Con suerte, cuando supimos que solo era un derramo de gas, unos amigos y yo nos fuimos caminando hasta Spadina, la tercera parada de tren desde el trabajo. Como a las 9-y-algo PM escuché en el tren que todo ya estaba normal en la estación afectada, entonces todo estaba bien.
Para aquello que se preguntan, sí voy a regresar al colegio en septiembre y estoy feliz. ¡No sólo estoy feliz, sino nervioso, triste, encantado y mucho más envuelto en uno! Este blog ya está largo como está entonces hablaré acerca de la escuela más tarde, en unas semanas. Aún más temprano si me consigo un computador en estos días. Espero que estén bien.
